Penwortham Golf Club invites both new members and visitors to enjoy its undulating, tree-lined fairways and to experience the fantastic golfing dividend which the investment of some £700,000 in 18 new greens has contributed to a parkland course of high quality with a testing par of 69.

Lancashire and the North West of England may be better known for its coastal golf but this delightfully varied, well-drained course nestling on the banks of the River Ribble plays well throughout the year and is undoubtedly one of the inland highlights. It is highly regarded locally and is a firm favourite with visiting golfers.

Situated on a wooded promontory overlooking the old Port of Preston two miles west of the M6 (J31) this 105 year old club has recently hosted the Lancashire Seniors Open and the National Corporate Games.

Penwortham will also co-host the Lancashire Classic Tournament during the summer of 2013.
This is testament to the course's enviable reputation and would seem to confirm that this part of the ancient manor of Penwortham - which is believed to have provided sanctuary for the Loyalist troops who had been defeated by Cromwell's men at the Battle of Preston in 1648 – was a happy choice for the Club's founders, who acquired the site shortly before World War I.

Well known for its relaxed and friendly atmosphere, Penwortham Golf Club has a fine clubhouse with excellent catering facilities, well-stocked bars and attractive meeting rooms.

Penwortham GC also has a well-appointed Pro-shop, with tuition available from no less than 3 Professionals.
